GMC Trucks: Sierra Pickup Trucks, GMC Canyon And Acadia Truck

One of the most popular vehicles in the United States are pickup trucks. Pickup trucks are some of the most versatile vehicles on the market, serving well as both people and cargo haulers, and newer trucks are starting to provide all the same ride and comfort as the standard midsized cars and SUVs.
GMC trucks have always been a popular option, and the 2007 line of GMC trucks looks to incorporate many of the features that customers are looking for in their new purchase, in particular the Sierra, Canyon, and Acadia. But do these GMC trucks meet their goals?
The most popular model of GMC trucks is probably the Sierra. As things go, the 2007 GMC Sierra has many of the features people are looking for in pickup trucks. It has a five star frontal impact rating, a nicely designed cabin, and at $15,000-$35,000 it is reasonably priced for today's pickup trucks market. The only issues with the Sierra are that its side impact ratings are only mediocre, and the truck bed is not as large as people are used to with GMC trucks. Still, the Sierra is a popular brand name, and as far as looks go, it's hard to match the Sierra's strong contoured look.
Another of the GMC trucks that is always well liked is the Canyon. The 2007 GMC Canyon has a strong 185 or 242 horsepower engine which is good for both city and off road trucking. The safety quality isn't as good as other GMC trucks, but it's a better dollar value coming in at around $14,000-$24,000. The front passenger space is a premium for the Canyon, and it gets fairly good gas mileage for a truck of this size, around 20 miles to the gallon for city driving, but don't expect great rear seat space. Also, there have been complaints about the Canyon's interior comfort overall as a passenger car, so it's best used as a hauler and not so much a travel vehicle.
The Acadia isn't so much one of GMC's pickup trucks, but it is more of a GMC Trucks/SUVs hybrid. GMC's primary competition in the hybrid market comes from Honda's CR-V and its own Buick and Saturn SUVs, though the Acadia is considered one of the best. It handles better and has more passenger car features than any of the other GMC trucks, and still has almost as much towing power and capacity as its competitors. Its safety ratings are fairly good with strong performance especially in terms of air bags, but its gas mileage is fairly weak at around 16 miles per gallon. But still, for those looking for the comfort and convenience of a standard SUV with the performance of a pickup truck, the Acadia is probably the best option on the market. The Acadia currently retails for $29,000-$38,000 depending on the package.
There is a long, strong history behind GMC trucks, and the 2007 GMC trucks models look quite good. The Sierra provides probably the safest, most popular ride with a small sacrifice in terms of storage space. The Canyon is probably a better hauler, but it's not a strong passenger model, and the Acadia is the best of both worlds, though what it gains in comfort it sacrifices in price. Whatever a person is looking for, however, there's probably one or two GMC trucks to fit their needs.
